LinkedIn rolled out a new feature this week that allows certain users to list the business services they offer via their profile.

For now, this feature is limited to select users within the United States who have a Premium Business subscription with LinkedIn.

“We started rolling this feature out to small business leaders and freelancers who have a Premium Business subscription in the U.S. this week. This fall, we’ll make this available to all small business leaders and freelancers in the U.S.”

The plan is to increase the reach of this feature to a wider U.S. audience in the fall of this year.

Vidya Chandra, LinkedIn's Group Product Manager, made it clear that this was a direct effort to help the multitude of small businesses and freelancers that use LinkedIn to generate business via word of mouth.

LinkedIn users searching for a provider of specific service are now able to find qualified providers much easier than previously. Services provided will be explicitly listed on individual profiles with descriptions.
